More About Me I am wife to a cartoonist/ illustrator husband and Mum to a bright, creative 10 year old daughter. I never thought that I was a cat person, but we have a cat that we love called Little Paws. We live and work in a little cottage in our own tiny forest on the very green and tree filled northern outskirts of Sydney, Australia. We all share a studio space and we are all a bit messy. I work from my large collection of treasure, trims and fabric that I've collected over the years from op shops, garage and warehouse sales, old clothes, fabric shops, my mum’s stash, friends giving me bags of stuff etc. I hates waste, so nothing gets thrown out and nearly everything gets used. ( if not, it gets regifted, donated or recycled)
My work is colourful, whimsical and designed to make you feel happy by mixing as many colours, fabrics and trims together as can be in a patchworky/appliqué-ish/embroidered kind of fashion.
My inspirations include experiencing the joy of childhood through my daughter’s eyes, flowers, rainbows, India and all things 70s.
My areas of expertise that apply to handmade business: Since a childhood, I have been on a creative journey, exploring art, design and construction of clothing, quilts, bags, toys and more. As well as a Diploma in Textiles, Clothing and Footwear, I also have lots of experience in the garment industry and I am most at home with my sketchbook, fabrics and a needle and thread. I have wanted to have a handmade business from a very young age, doing my first solo market at around age 11.
