Instagram Reels Challenge!

Hey Circle – we’re having a Reels Challenge starting December 5th!

To Participate:

  • For 7 days, we’re going to commit to posting Reels to our Insta feeds.
  • Every day during the challenge I’m going to be giving you tips and advice on how to make better Reels inside the Circle community on Facebook.
  • I’ll also encourage you to share a direct link to each Reel each day under these tips posts!
  • We’re also going to support each other by following and liking each other’s reels during the challenge – giving ourselves all a boost this Christmas sales season!

Make sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel, as I’m going to be publishing a video before the challenge starts so you’re ahead of the game and are ready to go!

Look for the daily posts over in our FB community to participate in the challenge!

If you’ve landed here but you’re NOT already a member – you can join right here, or find out more about membership here!

The 2019 #PinterestChallenge!

It’s time for this year’s #PinterestChallenge!

Those of you who’ve been in the Circle for over a year may remember this from last year (or even the year before).

The Challenge helped many of you grow your Pinterest accounts – and therefore, your website traffic.

Pinterest is one of the top drivers of traffic to my own businesses, and if you’re not already using it – or not using it to its full potential – this month’s Project aims to help you up your Pinterest game, and drive more people to your online store.

I’ve also done a recent member-exclusive podcast episode – Steps to Pinterest Success – to get you on the right track.

Also, don’t miss the previous members-only Pinterest episode: The Power of Pinterest – which gives you some more background on just why Pinterest is such a good choice to grow your business.

We also have our own group board!

Click here and request to join the board by messaging me on Pinterest.

What is the #PinterestChallenge?

  1. Start by writing down your current Pinterest stats (boards, pins, likes, followers, following, monthly views) as of today (May 31st). You should be able to find all of this in the STATS section of your Pinterest account. If you can’t…
  2. Make sure you have a BUSINESS account with stats enabled. And, if you can set up Rich Pins/Verification – do (but DON’T get bogged down in this step *right* now if it seems too tricky – come back to it later though).
  3. Commit to spending 10 minutes per day Pinteresting… 😀 (i.e pinning, re-pinning, liking, etc.). Ideally, set a reminder on your phone and stick to it.
  4. At the end of the month, come back and write down your stats again – and share your results with the Circle!
  5. Leave a comment under the Project post in the FB group if you’re committing to the challenge!
  6. BONUS – join our group board and also the public Create & Thrive Community board and be active on those. I have almost 12k followers, so that’s a great way to get a bit of traction, especially if you’re new to Pinterest.

This challenge will run the whole month of June, 2019.

If you haven’t taken it already, here is the original Pinterest Workshop video (you can see the whole workshop post here.)

I’m going to do this alongside you to see if I can get some more growth on my own account.

Good luck!

[190] Steps to Pinterest Success

Are you ready to harness the Power of Pinterest?

The #PinterestChallenge is happening again in June (more info below if you’re new to this) so I have recorded a podcast episode to help you get set up for success!

If you are new to Pinterest, this episode will help you set up all the important elements of your account. If you’re not new, it will be a great refresher!

If you’ve got an account and don’t really know what to do next – I’ve got you! Listen in to this episode now.

  • Go listen to episode 144 The Power of Pinterest first, if you haven’t heard it, where I try to convince you why pinterest matters. Pinterest is the biggest referrer to C&T after google, and on Etsy, it’s third after direct traffic and etsy search. It works.
  • Steps to set yourself up for Pinterest Success.
  • Avatar – you or a product or a logo.
  • Name – include your biz name – it will show up on any pins from your website.
  • Bio – your elevator pitch. Use keywords!
  • Claim your website and/or etsy shop and instagram (youtube if you have it).
  • Pin all your products to a you.com board. Spread this out over time (tailwind, buffer etc).
  • Repin your work to niche boards (silver rings, silver earrings, eco wedding, men’s wedding style, etc) mixed with other complementary products.
  • Use Tailwind or another service to buffer pins. Or set a time in your schedule to do so manually.
  • Use group boards or tailwind tribes to spread the reach of your pins.
  • Make pinning a habit (pinterest challenge – 10 minutes a day!).
  • Keep an eye on your analytics.

October 2018 Project – Get Prepared for Christmas!

It’s time to get ready for the busiest selling season of the year – the holidays!

Most of us either live in or sell to countries that celebrate Christmas/New Year.

For us, this is usually the busiest time of the year – which means it can also be the most stressful.

However, if we get prepared early, and plan ahead, we can avoid those ‘whoops’ moments and ensure we are ready to market our business effectively.

During October, we are going to work through the Handmade Biz Holiday Checklist below. You can download a pdf copy to print. You can also listen to the podcast episode where I go into more detail on each point.

Even if you’ve listened to it before, I encourage you to listen to it again! These tasks are things we have to do every year, so it will be a great way to refresh your memory, remind you of what you need to do, and get you motivated to be as prepared as possible to have a wonderful holiday sales season!

September 2018 Project #SmallSteps

This month, we’re focussing on small steps.

I’ll have a podcast on this for you next week (it’s available now!), but for now, I just want to encourage you to focus on the small steps you can take to move your business forward this month.

Not grand goals, or big dreams – let’s focus down and look to the little teeny-tiny things we can do every single day to grow our businesses. Sometimes I think we get overwhelmed by the ‘big things’ and get stuck… this month, I want you to put that aside, and just focus on the small steps.

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it? Make a list of all the small steps you could take this month that will move your business forward.

Things like:

  • Posting to instagram three times this week
  • Adding 5 of my products to pinterest
  • Sending one email to someone about my shop
  • Opening that business bank account
  • The options are endless!

I’d love for you to share your list in the FB group. Ideally, you’ll have a step for every day of the month, but if that seems too big, just make a list of 7 small steps you can take in the coming week!

Use the hashtag #smallsteps when you share in the FB group 🙂
