| More About Me | I live on the beautiful north coast of NSW - Coffs Harbour inland from Sawtell. We live on an acre and I love the space and peace, and being 5 mins from the ocean. I have two fabulous daughters and more recently a very treasured granddaughter (and of course two gorgeous son-in-laws). I have lived in Sydney, Melbourne and Newcastle. I love to travel and I cannot go anywhere without searching out the fabric stores and cannot leave a fabric store without purchasing. Love dogs - have always had a dog/s in our life and that's how the name of my biz came about. We had 3 Labs Charlie, Ruby and Diesel. Ruby was always by my side when I was creating and we sadly lost her in 2012. Each of our dogs had their own quilt. |
| My areas of expertise that apply to handmade business: | I learnt to sew very young - my mum was a beautiful seamstress, did the obligatory classes at high school which further fuelled my interest. I made all my own clothes for many years, then the girls' clothes and also made shirts, trousers etc for my husband. My nan taught me to knit and crochet and taught myself counted cross stitch. I don't remember ever being without craft of some kind. In 1998 I was given an opportunity to start and own a recruitment business which I ran successfully until 2011 when I sold. |
