More About Me | I live in Gordon, Victoria and I work a full-time day job in Melbourne. I'm a passionate knitter and feel there is a small gap in the market for 100% Australian made hand dyed yarn that is professional looking rather than having the "hobbyist" look. A lot of my sales will be through a retail shop that is opening in late January 2016, but I can't let out any details at the moment (top secret). My future goal is to have my yarn business replace a large part of my income so I can work in the corporate world part time or on a consultancy basis. |
My areas of expertise that apply to handmade business: | Apart from yarn dyeing and designing knitwear, I teach classes whenever I can fit them around my day job (I'm training manager for a major Australian funds management and investment company). I usually teach knitting classes - sock knitting, knitwear design, finishing class etc. I also teach a little crochet (I can crochet but it's not my focus) and lately my teaching venues have discovered I can make cold-process soap, jam and elderflower wine - so I've been branching out into those areas of teaching too. As a corporate trainer and experienced teacher outside of the corporate world, I have a lot of experience I can share with those who are adding teaching and presenting to their handmade business. |
