| More About Me | I'm 46, a mom of 2 boys (15 & 12), married to Hans and live in the country in an old farmahouse. We've converted the barn and that's where we live now. Our former living room in the house itself, houses my studio. Hence the name of my company. I've been creative (especially sewing and knitting/crochet) ever since I was a little girl, but I started earning money with it since 2013. That year I started giving craft workshops and courses. the hand made business is a more recent thing. That I started somewhere in april/may this year. Originally I have a bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering and I was specialised in industrial marketing. My latest job was marketing manager for an energy company, where I supervised a small team and was responsible for shifting the product driven marketing towards a more demand driven marketing. Something completely different to what I do now! I quite my job in 2010 as I struggled with the work/life balance. Now that the boys are older, I have more time on my hands and want to take my business a step (or 10!) further. I just finished Jess' course Wholesale know-how and thought joining the circle would be a good next step. |
| My areas of expertise that apply to handmade business: | I'm pretty good at sewing, knitting and crochet. I'm mastering screen printing by trial and error. I know the basics of Photoshop. I'm also an Excel nerd! I love a spreadsheet. Because of my background as a marketeer, I'm good at helping people with their marketing. Unfortunately, that doesn't apply to myself. I find doing the marketing for my own company so much harder! Probably because I am the company. |
